Zenith
Thirst for beauty grows as desperation builds in life. Even when in tears because of hopelessness from hardship and unreasonableness, I glorify life while glimpsing at the fully bloomed cherry blossoms of today. Everyone encounters splendor in life at least once. As delicate floor petals shower the world like snowflakes by the gust of wind, the thirst to be beautiful once again in this limited life rises to desperation. To capture this moment, I applied mother-of-pearls with all their radiance to the blossoming floor petals. It glows brightly in the reflection of light.
삶이 절실할수록 아름답고자 하는 갈망은 커진다. 나는 흐드러지게 피어있는 벚꽃을 바라보며 그 순간 삶이 찬란하다고 느낀다. 바람이 불며 여린 꽃잎들이 눈꽃처럼 휘날릴 때, 유한한 삶 속에서 또 한 번 아름답고자 하는 갈망이 절실해진다. 마찬가지로 누구에게나 생의 한가운데서 만나게 되는 찬란한 순간이 있으리라. 풍성한 꽃잎에 오색찬란한 자개를 입혔다. 잘게 쪼개진 그 순간들이 빛을 받아 영롱하게 반짝인다. 우리의 삶이 슬프고 비극 투성이지만 찬란한 한 순간을 보기 위해 살아 가는 것이 아닐까. 짧고 허망하지만 그래서 더욱 아름답다.
